First baseman Bob Watson ripped a bases loaded blast as the Houston White Sox
ballclub embarrassed the Boston Mets by the count of 15 to 4.

Watson had a big evening at the plate. He laced a one-base hit in the 2nd
inning, slapped a base-hit bringing in a run in the 5th inning and launched a
Grand Slam homerun in the 6th inning. Houston provided plenty of action in
the 3rd inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits, the 5th inning with 4 runs on
4 hits and the 6th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 5 hits. Houston
ended up with 17 hits for the game while Boston had 9.

Rick Rhoden(7-1) went 7 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Jerry
Koosman(9-7) was charged with the loss. Houston knocked him around a bit, as
he gave up 8 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.

'They made a couple of mistakes and I took full advantage,' Watson said 'next
time I'm sure they'll pitch me tougher.'
