Ron Cey cleared the bases with his grand slam as the Milwaukee Dodgers beat
the California Cubs by a score of 10 to 9.
 
California found themselves trailing quickly as the Milwaukee bats came
through in the first inning when they tallied 4 runs on 3 hits.  The critical
plate appearance was by Cey who excited the crowd when he launched a
rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun.  California threatened
in the 9th but Milwaukee was able to put down the rally.  
 
Don Sutton(11-6) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory.
Sutton got help from Charlie Hough who earned his 2nd save.  Frank
Tanana(13-5) was charged with the loss.  
 
Wth the win Milwaukee now has a record of 40-37.  California has a record of
37-44 after the loss.
