The St. Louis Twins nipped the Houston White Sox in 10 innings 4 to 3 at Busch
Stadium in a hard fought contest.

The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings. Finally, St. Louis prevailed
in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Tony Scott singled. After
another out, Keith Hernandez stepped in and he ripped a base-knock, and an
error was also committed. Ted Simmons then delivered a one-base hit
resulting in an exciting win for St. Louis and a raucous post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Overall St. Louis out-hit Houston 15 to
8.

Ron Schueler(3-2) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. The
loss was charged to Francisco Barrios(0-1) in relief. He was a hard-luck
loser, pitching 1 and 1/3 innings and not allowing an earned run.
