John(8-7) was on top of his game. He didn't allow much, just 3 hits and 1
walk in 9 innings dropping his ERA from 5.11 to 4.77. Milwaukee managed only
4 hits on the night.

Mike Flanagan(9-7) was the losing pitcher. 'John gave us exactly what we
needed tonight.' Robert Latorre said. 'When he threw the fastball he threw it
for strikes. They were really fooled by his change. Most of the time he had
them chasing it.'
