Right fielder Ellis Valentine knocked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Three Rivers
Stadium where the Kansas City Expos beat the Baltimore Pirates 6 to
3.
 
Valentine provided the offensive punch.  He hit a bases-empty home run in the
4th inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 6th inning and ripped a one-base
hit in the 8th inning.  The Baltimore offense proved no trouble in the bottom
of the 9th.  
 
The victory went to Mark Littell(3-3) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Littell was helped out by Steve Mingori who recorded his 3rd save.  Dennis
Martinez(4-4) was hit with the loss in relief.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning
giving up 3 hits and no walks.
