The San Francisco Yankees bested the Milwaukee Dodgers by a 6 to 3 score at
Yankee Stadium.

San Francisco jumped on top of Milwaukee in the bottom of the 2nd inning
plating 2 runs on 2 hits. Lou Piniella led off and keyed the rally when he
lined a one-base hit. Graig Nettles was next to the plate, but was promptly
struck out. Bucky Dent then drew a walk. Ed Figueroa followed and he laid
down a sacrifice bunt. Mickey Rivers came to the plate and ripped a
base-hit. Willie Randolph joined his teammates in the uprising and grounded
into a double play. San Francisco had 11 hits for the night while Milwaukee
had 8.

Figueroa(6-9) went 6 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Figueroa got
relief help from Sparky Lyle who gained credit for his 6th save. Tommy
John(8-8) ended up with the loss. He was knocked around by San Francisco,
allowing 11 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings.
