Shortstop Bert Campaneris had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at Busch Stadium as the
Texas Padres pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the St. Louis Twins by
the count of 12 to 9.

Texas scored the winning runs in the 9th inning when they tallied 5 runs on 3
hits. The big moment was provided by Campaneris who disappointed the
partisan crowd when he doubled clearing all three ducks off the pond. The
score went back-and-forth with the lead changing 5 times.

Roger Moret(2-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no
runs. Butch Metzger(3-5) was tagged with the loss in relief. He allowed 2
runs and 1 hit in 1 and 1/3 innings.

'The only way this one could have been better', said Moret, 'was if we had
played it at home.'
