First baseman Steve Garvey had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Olympic Stadium as the
Milwaukee Dodgers beat the Kansas City Expos 4 to 1.

Milwaukee came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th inning
with 3 runs on 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Robin Yount opened up the
rally as he doubled. Steve Yeager struck out, unable to help the rally. Ted
Martinez then was walked intentionally. Joe Ferguson followed and he drew a
walk to load the bases. Dusty Baker came up to bat and drew a walk. Garvey
kept the rally going and laced a base-hit. Neither team was able to score
until the 6th inning.

Bob McClure(3-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. Eduardo Rodriguez got the save, his 1st. Mark Littell(3-4) was the
loser in relief. He was not very effective, surrendering 3 runs in 2 and 1/3
innings.
