Philadelphia had 7.  The victory went to Doyle Alexander(9-8) who went 7 and
2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs. Len Barker preserved the game for Alexander,
recording his his 8th.  Larry Christenson(9-7) was given the loss.  He
pitched 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits and 3 walks.
 
'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' Alexander said.  'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't
put the ball where I wanted it.'
